However, I was givin the generic Plaquenil at first, and I did have a reaction to that - until now I didn't reliese was the same as my sulfa reaction. These are not sulfates. Sulfate used after a drug name is just the last name of the chemical, its the sulfate salt. It has nothing to do with sulfonamides.
